about

I'm Tina, an animal-loving suburbanite (I call Chicago home to earn negligible amounts of street cred with 20-somethings) seeking adventure and, more often than not, vegan sweets.  I'm a book lady, a  runner hesitant to sport the label, and a coffee, sweet potato, oatmeal, and chickpea addict.

After a love affair with instagram, I began the vegan marshmallow blog in July 2013 to share recipes, ramblings, and probably some romantic advice you didn't ask for.  The recipes are super simple, with short ingredient lists and straightforward preparation.  I've been cooking for myself since September 2010 and I've been vegan since September 2011.  I'm clearly still a newbie, and I'm excited about all of the things I've yet to learn.

Most of the photographs you'll find on the vegan marshmallow are taken with my LG Optimus Elite camera phone.  Not classy, not high tech, but it gets the job done and, above all else in importance, it's instagram compatible.

A vegan marshmallow is an anomaly or a rarity depending on how you want to think about it.  This blog is completely up to your interpretation, and it makes very little sense even to me.  Go wild.

  1. ZINESTERRR!

Give me 20 minutes to do laundry and then I'll be all over your blog. Can't do the legumes but I'm super excited for the romantic advice I didn't ask for and sweets, because duh.

    1. Alicia! You're all the sweets I'll ever need! I think I'm most excited about this blog because now I feel more normal (and I'm not normal at all) about the idea of commenting all over the blogs I love. Jaybird totally tops that list!

    1. Thanks, Jenn! And right back at you! I've been creeping around Near and Far since you were featured in Jaybird's Home in Motion series! I love looking at all the work you've done to the homestead, and I love your updates of work in progress. I've yet to dig in to the travel journals because I know they'll make me jealous :) ...but soon! For now, I hope you're enjoying your home and mountains!
